Note also how the fig tree (i.e., Israel's religious system) is also discussed in (Matt 24:32; Rev 6:13). Also, to understand these passages, and all passages in the Scriptures, study them (2 Tim 2:15) with your "right division" grid in your mind, giving you the context, by which you will know who the passage is talking to, and the timing of it. The "ages to come," starting with the book of Hebrews and continuing on through the book of Revelation, or the "ages to come" etc., deal with Israel and the Jews in the tribulation (last 7 years) time period. The Lord Jesus Christ in (Matt 24), or in "time past," is prophetically speaking about that future (ages to come) time period in the (Matt 24) passage. Both passages (Matt 24; Rev 6) have to do with Israel in the last 7 years.
