It is a Scriptural truth that spiritual darkness precedes physical darkness. The fall of Adam and Eve in the garden transpired inside of their hearts, before they physically acted. And at the heart of the matter, of their fall, was their desire ‘not’ to be restrained, to not have God's authority be ‘their’ authority. Adam and Eve desired to be able to do whatever they wanted to do. And so Eve ate, and then Adam ate from the forbidden tree. They believed satan's words as more authorative than God's Word, i.e , Jesus Christ. After being sent forth from the garden, however, something came with them…..and traveled:
..from the heart of Eve to the hand of Cain
What started with Adam and Eve and then traveled down into the nature's of every human being is called ‘sin’. And sin is an attack on God's glory, that which He will not give to another:
(Isaiah 42:8 KJ) I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Mankind has an inborn inclination, a perpetual propensity to have it his way, to violate God's Holy standard, as found within His Word rightly divided (2 Tim 2:15 King James). Man decides what is right and what is wrong based on what he ‘feels’ or ‘thinks’ about it. That is, man is his own standard. And as man continually changes, so do his standards. Man, thus, continually “chooses” the wrong. And he wants:
NO RESTRAINT
(Genesis 11:6 KJ) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
God confounded man's language and scattered them into different habitations at the tower of babel (Gen 11:1-9 KJ). However, something traveled within each one of them in all places where they went. And what traveled within them all is continually being displayed on the nightly news. The standard by which man lives today is produced and emanates from that which has traveled down through the ages, i.e., sin. The basis for man’s actions is seen through the eyes of man’s fallen nature prism. And it can be summed up this way:
Man is god; his fallen nature is his guide; he is supreme and has authority over all; and he wills to have No Restraint, to have no higher authority over him, by which his actions can be judged.
The horrific violence and murder and theft being nightly displayed in the newscasts today is a vivid and painful display of what happens when man deifies himself as God. But back of it all is that man will not have God rule over him. He will not be restrained. Man is his own God. Many now will no longer (defund police) submit to the law.
As was already stated, “spiritual darkness” is what underlies the ongoing and increasing darkness that we are seeing in the violence, murder and thefts seen daily now. And this is precisely what the Scriptures foretell of man's condition as it will be directly before God unleashes His righteous wrath upon the world in the last 7 years:
(Psalms 2:1-3 KJ) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
(2) The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
(3) Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
…….”imagine a vain thing?”
Recall this earlier at the tower of babel:
…. “and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
The sage once sang:
……"imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try….”
What we are seeing today is that man is exhibiting zero restraint. The issue is ‘spiritual’ before it is ‘political.’ When you see a person purposefully running over human beings in a car, that is a clear example that all ‘restraint,’ for that murderer, has been removed. And the love of the “self” is what underlies the horrifying scenes on the TV these days. You know, that esteeming of the self highly, as has been taught to kids in schools for years now. Here is what the Lord Jesus said about “self - esteem”:
(Luke 16:15 KJ) And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
And here is what God's Word said would happen when man exalts himself:
PERILOUS TIMES
Notice in the list of things given as why “perilous times” would come in the last days, that the love of the SELF (i e , self-esteem) is the first one mentioned, from which all the others proceed:
(2 Timothy 3:1 KJ) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
……”Having a form of godliness,"
Notice how these violent acts of burning cities down, of purposefully running people over with a car, for threatening to kill a young man who is justly protecting his community etc., that those perpetrating these unlawful acts are doing it in the name of “social justice.” But here is what God's Word Jesus Christ said of the one, the devil, who is guiding them in all of their violent unlawful acts…all in the name of social justice:
(John 10:10 KJ) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
When you see people stealing, killing and destroying, you know that they are not engaging in “social justice;” no, they are following the devil; they are ‘raging,’ (Psl 2:1 KJ) because they have cast off God's bands and cords (i.e., the Word of God). They ultimately will counsel with each other on how to have war against God Himself,…..ostensibly, and with eternal damnation zeal, they will continue their “social justice” crusade. First, they kill, maim or wound innocent human beings, and then they will try, again, to kill God Himself:
(Psalms 2:2,3 KJ) The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
(3) Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
And this will lead to the last 7 years where the Lord God will pour out His wrath on this Christ rejecting world:
(Psalms 2:5 KJ) Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
This “wrath” that He brings at His second coming is what the Lord Jesus did ‘not’ quote in (Luke 4 KJ) about (Isa 61:2 KJ), but stopped at the ‘comma’ in that verse:
(Luke 4:18,19 KJ) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
(19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
But this (highlighted) is what the verse went on to say….and that which the Lord Jesus did not quote:
(Isaiah 61:2 KJ) To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
The Lord Jesus “rightly” divided (2 Tim 2:15 KJ) His Word. He didn't quote the part about Him bringing “vengeance” at His first coming because that's not why He came the first time.
What we are clearly seeing today are the consequences of the nations after having cast off the Word of God, i.e., those “bands” and “cords” i.e., the restraint that God's Word places against the wicked actions, the human inclinations and vile nature of man, to steal, kill and destroy. The heathen truly are raging now.
What will most certainly follow are the gathering of the nation’s to war against God. And this is what will follow that eternal folly:
(Psalms 2:4- KJ) He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
(5) Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
The Father will sit His Son Jesus Christ on His holy hill of Zion in Jerusalem. The Lord Jesus will roar from the heavenly Zion, His heavenly habitation, and utter, roar, His voice upon Jerusalem, His earthly habitation:
(Jeremiah 25:30 KJ) Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
(Joel 3:16 KJ) The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
(Psalms 2:6 KJ) Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
And herein lies the basis for the nation's hatred, and their “rage”:
They want no restraint, no bands, no cords, i.e., they don’t want, …will not have any longer, God or His Word, or His kingdom nation of Israel and His people. Therefore, they despise God’s purpose for the earth, which is God’s Son Jesus Christ receiving all glory, praise and honor, and dwelling on the earth in Zion, Jerusalem, and reigning over all through His people of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, i e., His kingdom nation.
When nothing is “restrained” from the people anymore, when the “heathen rage,” when the Kings and rulers (UN) “set” themselves and “gather” themselves together against God and His anointed Jesus Christ…., the time is short friends.
In conclusion:
The Lord Jesus Christ will break His enemies with a “rod of iron”….(Psl 2:9 KJ) And the eternal epitaph will stand as a monument to God's rapid and bloody defeat of man's silly little protest,….that record being very clearly and divinely chisled at the Lord Jesus’ second coming, that man's casting off of all “restraint” will be over……abruptly.
That which started in Eve's heart and traveled down and through her son Cain's hand, is about to face the wrath of Almighty God.
Why Do The Heathen Rage...?
(Psalms 7:6 KJ) Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
